The Chuck Jones Show is an anthology series that aired on Cartoon Network. It premiered Sunday 8 April 2001 at 8:30pm.
Description[]
The Chuck Jones Show featured cartoons animated or directed by Chuck Jones.
Notes[]
- This show won an Annie Award for Best Animated Special Project for its open/close/packaging in 2001.[1]
- The director of the opening, Tod Polson, said the caricature of Chuck Jones was originally animated with a pencil in his left hand. Jones, who was alive at the time (and was right-handed in real life) noticed and asked for it to be altered.[2]
- The "Stalling-esque" opening and closing themes were composed by Jody Gray.[3]
- The show was criticized for its lack of informational segments (in the same vein as The Tex Avery Show and The Bob Clampett Show) and the selection of cartoons, as some of them were created without Chuck Jones' involvement.[4]
- The show premiered on Cartoon Network ten months before Chuck Jones' death on February 22nd, 2002.
