Porky's Bear Facts is a 1941 Looney Tunes cartoon directed by Friz Freleng and starring Porky Pig.

Plot

This retelling of the classic "Ant and the Grasshopper" fable concerns Porky, a conscientious, hard-working farmer, and the lazy bear and dog who live in a nearby homestead. Porky works hard all summer (plowing his land and singing "As You Sow, So Shall Ye Reap"), while the bear, his dog and the other animals on his farm waste their time loafing (sitting and singing "Working Can Wait"). When winter sets in, Porky has plenty to eat, while the bear and dog are left with no food. Crazed by hunger, the bear pursues the dog with intent to dine on him when they look in Porky's window and see all the food. The loafers arrive at Porky's front door looking for a handout; Porky, following the maxim of "Love Thy Neighbor," reluctantly feeds them. The well-fed bear reflects on how he's learned his lesson, and he and the dog gratefully vow to change their lazy ways. However, the first day of spring finds him back on his porch, banjo in hand, to squander another summer. The Bear and the dog sing the same old tune.
