Pop 'Im Pop! is a 1950 Looney Tunes short directed by Robert McKimson.
Plot[]
Gracie the fighting kangaroo is one of the largest attractions at a circus, and one day, her son, Hippety Hopper, wants to aspire to be a fighter like his mother. When Gracie is called for her act, Hippety is kept in the waiting room. Hippety finds a pair of boxing gloves and plays around a bit before wandering away from the circus, wrecking havoc in the city by hopping on wet concrete and in the middle of running traffic.
Meanwhile, Sylvester is at home with his son, tells a myth about how he captured a giant mouse. When Sylvester doesn't think Junior believes him, Junior says there's actually one behind him. Hippety has stumbled upon Sylvester's home, and the father cat is scared that the "giant mouse" in his tale is real. Junior tells Sylvester to catch the mouse lest he wants to be ashamed at his parental figure. Sylvester makes numerous attempts to get rid of the giant mouse, which proves to be far from what is told in his tale.
Sylvester tries to grapple Hippety's head to rip it off, but Hippety manages to jolt off Sylvester's grasps. Sylvester then grabs Hippety and attempts to throw him out of the yard, but Hippety simply ricochets back. He tries to eject the "giant mouse" by the door, but Hippety's legs keep him from exiting. Sylvester tries to do a foot hold, which causes the playful kangaroo to pounce Sylvester into a series of trash cans. Junior cheers on his father while Sylvester continuously gets a plethora of beatings from Hippety, all to Hippety's amusement. Sylvester tries to trap Hippety in a trash can, but Hippety hops inside until Sylvester crashes.
Onto his final whims, Sylvester chases Hippety with an axe as Junior follows. The chase continues throughout the city until Hippety runs back into the circus tent. Sylvester tries to peep inside, but is socked in the head. When Junior catches up to his father, he asks if Sylvester has beaten the mouse. Sylvester smugly states that he certainly has defeated it and sarcastically wishes it was twice the size with double the heads and arms. However, Sylvester's wish becomes true when Gracie and her son appears behind Sylvester. Not wanting to go through the pummeling again, Sylvester flees while Junior waves goodbye, in which Hippety waves back.
