Pismo Beach is a city in San Luis Obispo County, California. The city is famous for the species that resides there, the Pismo clam, though in recent years, the population of clams has decreased due to fishers whaling them for consumption and profit.
In the 1957 Merrie Melodies short "Ali Baba Bunny", Bugs Bunny and his traveling companion Daffy Duck emerge from a tunnel, with Bugs believing they have arrived at Pismo Beach "and all the clams we can eat." (As always, Bugs missed his left turn at Albuquerque.)
