Lumber Jerks is a 1955 Looney Tunes cartoon directed by Friz Freleng, and starring The Goofy Gophers.
Plot
The Goofy Gophers find that the tree they are living in has been cut down, and is gone. They find that it's in a log pile about to be taken away, to be produced into paper. When they go inside, they find themselves coming face to face with a bizarre machine designed to turn trees into toothpicks.
Availability
- DVD - Looney Tunes Golden Collection: Volume 1, Disc Four
Censorship
On ABC and The WB, the scene of one of the Goofy Gophers siphoning gasoline out of the furniture delivery truck and getting sick after swallowing some by mistake was cut (so as not to inspire any copycat incidents).[1]
Notes
- This was the last Looney Tunes cartoon to bear the "1946-55" ending theme.
- This was also Friz Freleng's last Goofy Gophers cartoon, the next two "Gopher Broke" and "Tease for Two" were directed by Robert McKimson.
