Gail Matthius (born 14 January 1953) is an American comedienne, actress, and voice artist. She is best known for her voice acting roles in 1990s cartoons (Tiny Toon Adventures, Animaniacs, Bobby's World, and Bump in the Night, specifically) and her stint as a cast member in the NBC sketch show Saturday Night Live during its widely-despised sixth season (which lasted from November 1980 to March 1981). Her recurring characters on SNL included Francis Lively, wife of game show host, Phil Lively (played by Charles Rocket, who also worked with her on Weekend Update); Roweena, a sarcastic hairstylist; and Vickie, an airheaded Valley Girl (Matthius' Vicki character is the voice she uses for Shirley the Loon, only it was unrefined and lower-sounding on SNL). Her celebrity impressions included actress-model Brooke Shields, singer Irene Cara, former First Lady Nancy Reagan, and Mary Cunningham (a businesswoman at the center of a sexual harassment scandal in the early 1980s).
