1958 was one of the years of the Golden Age of Looney Tunes.

History[]

  • Michael Maltese leaves Warner Bros. Cartoons to work for Hanna-Barbera.[1][2]
  • All cartoons from this year had blue Color Rings with the WB zooming shield.
  • Carl W. Stalling retires from composing music for the series.
    • Shortly after Carl Stalling retired, due to a musicians strike later this year, Milt Franklyn was not able to compose music for 6 cartoons; he returned to compose the music in "Cat Feud". As a result, stock music was used from "Weasel While You Work" to "Hip Hip Hurry".
