Bosko's Knight-Mare is a 1933 Looney Tunes short directed by Hugh Harman.

Plot[]

Bosko and Bruno are relaxing by the fire one evening. Bosko is reading a book about King Arthur's knights, when he suddenly falls asleep. He dreams of himself as a knight who sings and dances with the knights of the round table. An evil villainous knight abducts the fair maiden Honey and takes her to his castle. Bosko pursues, and while fighting the evil knight, Bosko wakes up to Bruno licking his face.

Caricatures[]

Censorship[]

For a short time, Nickelodeon's version of this cartoon (when Looney Tunes on Nickelodeon aired as part of the family/general audience block Nick at Nite) edited out scenes featuring the Knights of the Round Table as caricatures of celebrities who were famous at the time of this cartoon's release, though they left in the appearance of The Marx Brothers as knights. As there was nothing objectionable to that scene, no violence, no sexual innuendo or sexist jokes, no racist/ethnic stereotypes, it can safely be assumed that this edit was just a cut to allow time for more cartoons and commercial breaks.[2]
